Join us as we journey to Washington, D.C. for the Fourth of July celebration in our nation's capitol. We will be traveling in Pullman comfort on private sleeping cars along with a newly refurbished vista dome diner lounge to Chicago (and on to Washington, D.C. with the dome when we reach a total of 28 passengers).
Our schedule will be: Monday, June 28 - Departure this morning is at 10:15 am attached to the end of Amtrak's "Coast Starlight". Enjoy the spectacular views of 113 miles of California coastline as we head for Oakland. We will offer a delicious sandwich buffet at lunch time and a pasta dinner prior to our arrival time in Oakland of 9:30 pm. This evening we will overnight aboard the cars in the Amtrak yard. Tuesday, June 29 - This morning we will offer a continental breakfast in the dome diner. At 9:50 am we will depart for Chicago attached to the front-end of the "California Zephyr". Our position on the train will allow access to the Amtrak diner and lounge. Unless otherwise specified, all meals are on an individual settlement basis. Then, sit back and enjoy the trip across Donner Pass and the route of the original transcontinental railroad. On a clear day, the scenery is positively spectacular - particularly from a Vista Dome! Wednesday, June 30 - A continental breakfast is available in the dome diner or you may wish to visit the Amtrak diner for a traditional breakfast.
