Conductor Bill says, "Well ... ya comin'?"

"All Aboard the North Pole Express!"

November 29th, 2008

Santa's coming to town aboard the North Pole Express ... (none other than the Overland Trail and her running mate, the Amber Trail)

Sign up now for a wonderful Christmas event like no other. Do you still believe? Then don't miss this opportunity to join Conductor Bill and St. Nick as they race between Los Angeles and San Diego on a real express passenger train.

Some of the features that all will enjoy:

  • A special souvenir ticket punched by the conductor.

  • A souvenir "first gift of Christmas sleigh bell".

  • Hot chocolate!

  • A reading of Chris Van Allsburg's Polar Express by the Conductor.

  • An individual visit with Santa. (please remember your camera!)

  • The thrill of a real train ride to San Diego and back.

  • Food and beverage that is included in the price of your ticket.

  • Photo opportunity with Santa and the Conductor.

Two schedules are available:

A morning departure leaving LA at 7:20 AM (back by 1:15 PM)

A late afternoon departure leaving at 3:00 PM (back by 9:05 PM):

(Please click here for the full schedule and other intermediate stops)

Please note the Orange schedule for the morning run and the Violet schedule for the afternoon/evening run. Passengers may board at any intermediate station. (sorry, not possible to adjust fare)

Fare:

Children 11 and under: $69.00

All other "children at heart": $89.00

Please note that this event is a real train ride to San Diego and back. From Los Angeles, there is about 6 hours of "entertrainment. There will be about 25 minutes to "stretch your legs" at San Diego, but then we turn right around and return to your station of embarkation.

There are no food or beverage purchases allowed on the train ... because it's included in your fare! (sorry, if you were hoping to be gouged in the pocket book because you're a captive audience, just won't happen.)

Gift certificates available

Adult must accompany child(ren)

Please, for security and safety's sake, no more than 2 children per adult

Kids of all ages will surely enjoy the train trip, but please consider your younger child's ability to handle a 6 hour train ride

Children may wear (modest) pajamas if they choose, but must have house shoes (or better) and bath robes would be recommended as well

Passengers will enjoy two vintage passenger cars ... being seated in one car southbound and the other northbound

Sorry, but on this Express, there will be NO climbing to the top of the train cars!

Please make your check out to:

Debbie Hatrick

And send to:

2054 S. Halladay St.

Santa Ana, CA 92707-2904

An acknowledgment of your ticket purchase will be made, but special tickets will not be mailed until early November.
