Sleep on a train!

Experience not just a railroad sleeping car, but true vintage 1950 Pullman sleeper service! Depart Los Angeles on Saturday Morning at 8:30 am. (You may also start your journey from Fullerton, Anaheim, Santa Ana, or Irvine, please call or write for times).

 

Enroute, watch the scenery, cars and railroad crossings fly by as the train races to San Diego! Enjoy some refreshments, delivered to your room by your Porter! Stroll into the next car and enjoy the open platform ... you'll feel like your on a magic carpet as the rails and scenery recede behind us. Arrive in San Diego at 11:20 AM, ready to enjoy all that San Diego has to offer.

 

When you return after your exploring, your bed will be turned down, ready for a good nights sleep aboard a vintage Pullman car.

Wake up the next morning ready to go! Enjoy a continental breakfast compliments of LA RAIL and then your ready to enjoy a full day in San Diego – Might you be interested in Sea World, Balboa Park, the San Diego Zoo? Or possibly shopping downtown or at nearby Horton Plaza or Seaport Village? The choice is yours as there is abundant public transportation available!

Be back in time for our departure at 6:20 PM. Arrive in Los Angeles at 9:05 PM Sunday evening (call for intermediate Orange County times) .

 

First Class sleeping accommodations aboard the Private cars:

 

The Pacific Sands features traditional single person "roomettes" and two person "double bedrooms". All rooms have toilet/sink facilities, individual temperature control, fans, small closet. Couples have the choice of a double bedroom, (Upper and Lower berth) or in individual "right across the aisle" roomettes. Two Double Bedrooms may also be joined together to form a suite for a family of four. The car is equipped with a shared shower and also features a kitchenette at the end of the car.

The Tioga Pass is a former "Presidents Car" and features an open platform, a rear lounge, and an intimate dining room. It also features two suites that share a private shower ... for Tioga Pass assigned passengers only. Extra service, Extra nice, Extra fare.

FARES: (Only a few roomettes left)

$169 for a single occupancy roomette (Please double for two passengers) Roomettes for two will be directly across the hallway. And remember, besides the discount price ... when two roomettes are booked, no one has to use a ladder. SINGLES are welcome to enjoy the train trip, too!

SOLD $399 for a double bedroom (sleeps 2 passengers)

SOLD $798 for a suite (sleeps 4 passengers or deduct 10% for two passenger use) The suite is convertible to two private rooms at night.

SOLD $499 for a presidential suite on board the Tioga Pass (sleeps two)

 

Your fare includes roundtrip transportation by vintage railcar, overnight accommodations aboard the private cars, two continental breakfasts and light snacks and beverages.

All sightseeing costs and food outside of train travel are by individual settlement.

Although we won't be serving any alcoholic beverages, you are welcome to bring your own wine, no corkage fee.
